Every night an Orangutan builds a nest in a tree out of branches to sleep. Usually the nest is 15-100 metres off the ground.
Orangutans have been seen using different tools. They use leaves as umbrellas for protection from the sun and rain. The have also been caught using branches and leaves for foraging different insects, collecting honey and protecting themselves from biting insects.
Scientists have seen development of cultures in different types of Orangutans. In borneo, Orangutans have been seen using handfuls of leaves to wipe their chins while eating, whilst Sumatran Orangutans have been seen using big leaves to handle spiky foods.
